I want to find some good shooting glasses. I like the idea of the various lenses to swap out n have been looking at ess or Wiley-x n was wondering how they are. They are a little "operator/tacticool" for my tase but if they get the job done then so be it. Are there others that I'm missing that I should take a look at???

I own them and bought the pX carrier for them(still need lenses
)
I enjoy them. They came with a clear lens and with a dark tinted one for outdoor shooting. Took me a while to get used to switching them out as it's kind of tricky but it's not bad anymore. They fog up on me at one particular indoor range that I shoot at.R.I.P. Thomas C.Originally posted by d4v0sMy girlfriend and i used froglube last night in a pinch and it works great.Comment

that wouldnt happen to be the oc indoor range would it. mine always fog up there as well.
thanks for the input guys. Only thing that sucks is i have a big *** melon of a head and really need to try out glasses before i buy them. and as they are all pricier glasses i wouldnt want to buy them just to see they dont fit. Anyone know of retailers that stock any of these???"I'd much rather go to my grave never needing my gun, than go there wishing I had it"Comment

i have used Wiley X PT1 and swapped it with the new nose piece essentially making it the PT3. Works great! tight fit saved my eyes from flying brass on a few occasions.
Oakley M-frames and Half Jacket/Flak Jackets work just as well, but are slightly lower profile (for good or bad)."When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle." -Edmund BurkeComment

Actually, I didn't have problems with them fogging up there! Every time I go to Magnum indoor range in Rancho, the top of my lenses fog up. I thought I was nervous or something but even when I shot my .22 rifle there alone, foggy! I usually shoot kind of 'blind' since it screws up my sight picture but oh well haha. Hmm, we can meet up at Turners' sometime so you can try mine on.that wouldnt happen to be the oc indoor range would it. mine always fog up there as well.

I love my Hoppe's 9 shooting glasses, but there's only one place in the world I know where I can get them, and it's a small mom and pop FFL near Pomoma. PM me if you might be interested in a pair, they're not that expensive either. In Glock We Trust.

+1 Oakleys
Excellent optical quality, expensive, but worth it.
There is an "asian fit" version that is wider at the temples than the standard fit. I believe it uses a larger nose pad as well, but that takes under 30 seconds to change.
People with wides faces/bigger heads swear by them.
I prefer to wear glasses that cover the upper part of my vision with as little frame as possible due to shooting prone & road biking.
If shooting a lot of prone, I'll forego my Oakleys for cheap clear shooting glasses that are frameless (parts screwed into the lens). Distortion is hugely annoying though.
I prefer to have more airflow at the bottom part of the lens, not touching my face. Seems to fog less that way.
I don't use anti-fog sprays on anything other than goggles.
For overall quality, I like Maui Jims over anything else. Ray Bans aren't bad. Most other stuff out there is junk in terms of optical quality. Costa del Mar, Porsche Design, "fashion brands", etc.- expensive c***
The sunglasses from Costco are a fantastic value in terms of optical quality for what you pay. the build quality is a few steps below c***. They hold up slightly worse than $6 drugstore sunglasses. I'd recommend getting a pair or two to leave in the car or use for days you don't want to risk your better eyewear. Like the Remington 870 you bring to thrash/drop/use as a walking stick at a 3 gun in heavy rain and mud instead of the M3 you would bring in sunny weather.
(I believe it's Kirkland brand.)
