    old guns

    i inherited a lot of old world war one & two military rifles,my question is -do i have to do legal state transfers here in ca,
    thanks for your input.

    Any rifle over 50 years old can be sold "cash and carry." in that no FFL or paperwork is required.

    All pistols must be transferred through a FFL regardless of age.

      If the long guns are all over 50 yrs old, which it sounds like they are, and aren't machine guns, then you don't have to do anything. Maybe list them/post pics and we could help identify and let you know for sure.

        Sorry for the loss of your relative & so envious of your inheritance...Hope you can keep them in the Family.
        Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

        I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.
