correct, it doesn't have a PG but the wire stock and easily be considered a thumbhole stock which would be an evil feature. Even the T-stock with the hole in the triangle could possibly be considered a thumbhole stock. I've seen people plug the hole or cover it so as to not chance it being considered a thumbhole.Jack
Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

So then what your saying is that it isn't "wise" to have a "wire" stock and that if i want the "triangle" style, to some how block the hole?
Would I be pushing the limits of the law by just having the wire stock or not filling the hole?Last edited by glocklover; 11-12-2011, 2:39 PM.Comment

===========================================Since the weapon doesn't have "a pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon", all I would have be assure of is that:
-the barrel is 16 inches
-overall length of 30 inches
-closed bolt design
-semi-auto (of course)
I want to aquire the model with the wire stock style NOT the strut type stock with a hole in the middle of the "triangle" section.
If choose to change or get both styles.
Or am I wrong about the definition of "pistol grip" and the design of the stock?
Insight would be great.
Also, would both above stock styles be CA compliant?
NO. not in a stock configuration.
STEN 's need to meet 922r also.
A STEN pistol needs a B/B . and must be set up so as
to not cause a 'constructive possession' problem.
All of that is doable .

Many years ago there was an opinion letter from the CA DOJ posted here that said the T-stock left unaltered would be considered a thumbhole stock. I have found the posts with the links to the letters, but the links are long since dead.correct, it doesn't have a PG but the wire stock and easily be considered a thumbhole stock which would be an evil feature. Most people just weld in a washer into the hole to make the diameter of the hole small enough to not be able to fit a thumb into."If a man hasn't found something worth dying for, he isn't fit to live." - Martin Luther King Jr.
