    Ruger MKIII upgrades

I will be picking up my new Ruger S.S. MKIII Hunter next week. I will be installing various Volguartsen upgrades such as a trigger, sear, ejector and extractor. My question is whether I should break in the gun before installing those upgrades. My initial inclination is to install these aftermarket parts right away so they break in with the other parts they come in contact with. Your opinions? Thanks in advance.

I'm a fairly long time gun owner but just recently became a true enthusiast, having been bitten by the "bug". I feel it's more like a virus; sometimes dormant but without a cure. I'm also a virtual newbie to this site and feel somewhat like a leech, having benefited so much from the Calguns.net Forums over the last few months w/o contributing anything. I intend for that to change.

Shouldn't you try out the pistol first to see if you even need the upgrades? if not i'd just say do it from the start so everything breaks in together.

Based on info. taken from Calguns.net Forums, I decided I wanted the upgrades even befroe trying the gun in its OEM form, also based on the good results from the Volquartsen and Power Custom upgrades to my Ruger 10/22.

Buy the filler plate for the loaded chamber indicator from Bruce P. on rimfire central.I also eliminated the mag disconnect with a MKII hammer bushing.2 upgrades it needs out of the box.

I would just change out all the components you want right away and enjoy the gun. I have two MkIII 22/45's with Volquartsen trigger/sear/hammer, Power Custom extractor and Volquartsen MkII bushing to eliminate the mag disconnect safety. The difference between stock and modified with these parts is very significant.

On my first one I shot it quite a bit before changing the parts and liked it how it was but it was a pain to field strip/reassemble. With the new parts the trigger is way better and disassembly and reassembly is way easier. My second MKIII 22/45 I changed immediately because I knew how much better it was with the modifications and it has worked great.

I would try it out before I add parts. What is you're awsome with the gun and don't need to add anything?
The liberal see's the glass as half full and tries to take more.
The conservative see's glass as half empty and tries to keep it that way.
I'm with the people on the side just pouring water in the glass trying to get a drink!
