Found a Verticle Fore Grip at my backyard range.

So, some of you know I shoot in my back yard, which is nice. I have not been shooting there for months because of harvest season. While it may be legal, it isn't smart, safe, nor courteous to shoot while they are working in the orchards that surround me.

So wife and I were walking back there yesterday evening and I look down when I notice something black in the grass. Yup, a rail mount type VFG. Now I am wondering..
    1. Who has been using my range when I am not about?
    2. Who would be using an AR pattern rifle with a VFG?

Maybe I need to mount a game camera hidden in one of the burn piles. I just don't want someone causing trouble and then I get blamed for it since I shoot there.

    BINTF?

Is there something growing in the orchards that shouldn't be?

Or maybe it fell out of that helicopter they fly around looking for various shades of green.
Just taking up space in (what is no longer) the second-worst small town in California.

It would also have to be sleep buying and sleep making money to be able to have a secret AR pattern rifle hidden from the waking me. My sub-conscious self likes ARs? lol

Yes, also been noting all the low flying aircraft since harvest started. I don't think there is a grow out here because this is all commercial orchards, heavily worked and trafficked. This isn't the kind of area to keep secrets. However I am pretty certain a goodly number of the orchard harvest work-force are gang/illegal. The grip appeared to be damaged, hence it was discarded.

By any chance have you spoken to LE about this? It may be nothing, but maybe something fishy, eh? Crimes have been solved for less, and you might be the one who helped solve it. At least, you can distance yourself from any stupid/illegal activity...

Strange thing to find, no kids or grandkids into airsoft maybe? See any plastic BB's anywhere.

doesn't have to be an AR i can mount a FG on my hipoint carbine or it could have been on a railed AK. all that aside i'd set up the camera.

Have you found any brass laying around?

Nope, no brass. No mess, no "yellow bbs".

So I guess that leaves me scratching my head. The VFG in question has all the looks and features of the Pro-Mag AR-15 Vertical Forend Grip... a whopping $9 piece of kit.

I just keep a close eye on all events that go on around me, probably nothing. Still I like to investigate every thing that goes on where I live so I will keep an eye out for more evidence of trespassers.

Nine bucks? Well, at least that leaves out any cartels operating in your area.

Look at the bright side, your range-goer cleans up after himself.

Ninjas. You won't see them unless they choose to be seen.

You haven't come across any Lapuaproof trauma plates, have ya?

Oh, so that is what that was..... j/k

Yeah, knowing plastic that thing could be rather old and still look like new. The field did get lightly tilled a bit ago that could have dredged it up I suppose.

It was probably dropped by a SWAT team member just seconds before they raided your house by mistake. They had to call off the raid until the VFG could be replaced. By the time the guy got his rifle squared away they had figured out the correct address for the house they needed to raid.

                              You got lucky.
