Odd looking .308 rounds

That's training ammo, not target ammo. It's a lightweight(10gr. I think?) projectile without much powder behind it.

I use that all of the time in my FR8. It won't cycle a semi-auto, but in a bolt gun, I can have fun shooting without pounding my shoulder. I've only shot it out to 50yds because I can barely see the target at 100yds with open sights.

They are a bit hard to extract, but otherwise work just fine for me.

I've still a large pile of Swedish practice 7.62 ammo. Brass case, nylon bullet.

Steps out like a mad dog to 25m, but slow enough to catch bare-handed at 100m. Popping a full can of cola inside 15m, results in a brown fog of cola, and near total fragmentation of the can. At 50m, the bullet will barely poke a small hole. And if I can hit it at 100, it won't even knock it over.

Not real accurate after 25m. With almost zero recoil though, it's fun to let small kids get to shoot the "big gun".

For me the German training rounds shoot to about 2" 5 rd groups at 50 yds but accuracy is about gone past that point. Best feeding and accuracy from a rebarreled M48 in 7.62mm. So far I've shot them at paper and hanging steel targets @ 30 yds. They are accurate enough for that use.

Originally designed for the G3 rifle with a special bolt group that allowed the rounds to blow back and function the action. The base of the case is smaller to match the bolt face of the blow back bolt group. The bolt face is too small to allow standard rounds to chamber.

I have a case of that. It's all plastic except for the base which is brass or some similar metal. Like everybody else has said, it won't cycle the action but is a kick to shoot.

If I remember right it's made by DAG in Germany.

Fun stuff - buy a couple of boxes!
