    cheapest place for 1911 mags?

Need some mags for my RIA 1911 Tactical that I'm picking up tomorrow and I'm wondering where the cheapest place is to get them? I think Sac Black Rifle in Rocklin (where i'm picking my gun up) has them for $20, is there anywhere else that's cheaper? any good deals online? Any calgunners with extra wanna unload 1 or 2 my way for some $$?????

I have a couple of these & they work fine in my FS Tactical. The springs are indeed "high performance."

Check-Mate Gov't 1911 .45 CAL blued magazine with a 7RD capacity, welded floorplate, Check-Mate skirted follower with dimple, hybrid feed lips and a hi-performance 7RD magazine spring.

I bought about 4 of these from cheaper than dirt and have no issues with them in my SA GI 1911.

Cheaper Than Dirt! is America's Ultimate Shooting Sports Discounter, and we live up to that title. Expect bulk ammo deals, discounts, gun care accessories and more

I use only CheckMate with hybrid feed lips in my 1911s. Never had afeed issue with ball or HP defense ammo. They manufacture mags for many of the top end 1911 manufactures.

Prices are also great, compared to buying the gun manufactures name mags.

The Achilles Heel of any 1911 is weak or poorly made magazines. I've tried a lots and most of the name brands work but I use Chip McCormick PowerMags exclusively in my full sized steel framed 1911s. If you shop online you'll find them for $22-27 but shipping can be a killer.

Don't go too cheap on mags. They're the heart of a 1911. Go with McCormick PowerMags as sholling suggested. You can usually find them on sale online.

I'de avoid getting the Ammoman mags. They are not considered to be good mags. They are either fake or rejects. There are articles out there in different forums mentioning those mags. The last batch of relatively cheap mags I got were from Joe's Mag Mania. http://forum.m1911.org/showthread.php?t=90436 Link to thread about them. Register to see the pics, it's a worthy site. (there is a thread there about the ammoman mags too) There is speculation they are made by Checkmate, but I am not convinced they are. They have held up for the last 6 months I have been using them and I have put severale thousand rounds thru the 6 I have (I originally bought a 10 pack but sold 4 to my neighbor). I'm thinking about getting 10 more soon. I got the 8 rounder stainless ones with the basepads. They were $125 for the 10 pack when I got them 6 months back. Looks like they went up a little since then.

I posted some pics of the Joe's mag on the linked site and if you don't want to register there to see them here they are....I included a g.i. Checkmate mag for comparison.

The mag identification thread from that site is awesome too. Worth registering there just for the pics in that thread. http://forum.m1911.org/showthread.ph...6&page=1&pp=10
