I want to purchase the Marlin 1894 CSS 357 lever action and want to know if choosing a particuliar dealer over another increases my chances of getting the rifle sooner than later? SoCal.

Hi Frank...welcome to Cal Guns...A neat bunch of people here.
I think you're going to have a hard time even finding an 1894CSS at any price. Last time I heard the waiting list was more than a year long. It seems some dealers do get them in (out of State) but here in Southern California, you're gonna pay a higher price if you can even find one.
They go for $700 and up.
I have a couple of Blue Steel Marlin 1894s in .357 magnum....I shoot one and save the other...lots of fun shooting .357 with my kids.
Be well, BobMay the Bridges I burn light the way.

Fewer people are killed with all rifles each year (323 in 2011) than with shotguns (356), hammers and clubs (496), and hands and feet (728). -
I gave up waiting and bought the Rossi; plus I wanted a longer barrel and they made that for the Rossi (24 inch). I love it....about $500 OTD maybe a little more - got it last year.Comment
