Sac Sheriff's Deputies Investigated by ATF

News said it was because they were buying and reselling guns that had more than 10 round magazines and that were not legal for civilians to purchase in California. Weird thing is they also said the ATF was doing the investigation.

They are assuming they sold them with high capacity mags. Sold as parts kits i'd bet. Probably all glocks, and sig's. I'd put money on the fact they purchased new under their "pass" and sold them within a week of receiving, and or multiples of the same firearm.

Which would be difficult to pass the smell test for straw sales. Interested to see how this unfolds.

Now that's just funny right there, even if it is true who gets hurt. Maybe the ATF should concentrate on cleaning up their own yard first.

funny thing is the high cap law is a state issue and the atf is a federal orginization.

Well, given how the media screws up most firearm stories there is no doubt in my mind the investigation has nothing to do with hi cap mags or the selling of "illegal" firearms, but the illegal selling of firearms..

I would speculate that the LEOs are being investigated because of the purchase of firearms not approved for non LE sales, and the rapid turn around sales via PPT to non LE.

IF it turns out they were selling firearms with +10 mags to non LE then the CA DOJ might file charges on top of any federal charges. But the feds would get first crack.
