    shooting outdoors in sd county

is there anywhere left to shoot outdoors in san diego county, or anywhere in the immediate vacinity of san diego. all my online research of blm shooting sites, has not helped me. one way or another ive found that either blm, border patrol, and even sdge, have found a way to close em down. so does anyone, know of anything, or has it come down to driving around the dessert for who knows how long, hoping to find a safe shooting place.

    thanks in advance

Are you looking for "free" places to shoot? Or are you just wanting to shoot outdoors?

South Bay Gun Club (Dulzura) has 50-300yrd distances

Pala (Fallbrook) has long range shooting as well

Santa Margarita Range (Camp Pendleton) has known distance out to 1000yrds
    MagPul MPLA
    POF-USA P415-18-11T-223
    TROY M7A1
& a bunch of SIG pistols and rifles

    **WTB P227 TacOps**

There's no convenient option, especially if you on the coast. Haven't heard of Santa Margarita, got an address?

I think orosco ridge is still closed to the public for shooting. I was one of the last free places to shoot in the county of San Diego. Sad. There is so much junk like tv's microwaves and other junk and they wont let anyone clean it up.

There's places out near dulzura's gun club that are BLM land. Just have to have a good back stop and PICK UP YOUR TRASH.
"Then there are sheepdogs. The sheepdogs are the bastions of safety. The sheepdog lives solely to protect the flock and confront the wolf. They live for the opportunity to be called to duty to protect the innocent. The sheepdog has fangs and the propensity for violence but hopes that he will not have to resort to it. However, he lives for that day when he will be able to use his warrior skills and mindset to keep the wolf from harming the sheep."

Why not take a quick drive up to bee canyon? A buddy of mine and I are planning a trip out there, and would be more than happy to welcome another cal gunner.

Orosco is closed, probably forever. Nate Harrison Grade off the 76 near Lake Henshaw/Palomar MT. is still open.

I heard the place on south side of 8 (80) near border is now gated off by BP?? Building an observation tower or something Jacumba maybe?
                Kitchen creek closed...
Painted Gorge/canyon past Occotillo on North side (8 to S80) was open a couple months ago
(BLM, Evan Hewes, Coyote, Yuha Basin, YUma Desert, In-Ko-Pah etc)
Might go out this week or next, but road is a little bumpy I heard?

Is "delzura place" Southbay Rod and gun club? still not sure were near there you can shoot exactly?
Id just go there its 20 bucks all day for non members 50,100,200,300?yrd Havent been in a while. http://www.sbrgc.org/
Ive stopped by rangers office before and asked, maybe call, they can be real helpful. Sheriffs office too.
Also I heard about BLM land by the small airport in Chula Vista, BP goes by there all the time but theyre nice, some others pass through that could be an issue? Never tried it.
