Hey guys going out to BLM land with some friends, and need some ideas for a good targets. Looking for inexpensive, cheap and ...."fun" targets. Please share your ideas! I'll start.
1) I work in the automotive industry, so I save up some large second hand cardboard boxes, usually only the big ones, like 4x5 foot boxes. Break them down and throw em in the back my suv. I tape them up, put some big flat rocks in the bottom to prevent the wind from blowing them over, and tape some targets on them. I also use the top of the boxes to hold up other targets like the ones below. Clean up is easy, just break them down and throw them away on the way home.
2) Watermelons are real fun to blow up, kind of expensive to shoot but, at least after a couple shots they make good eating.
3) Cheap cans of generic soda. Shake well.
4) My house goes through about 2 gallons of milk a week, I try and save as many plastic 1 gallon bottles as possible. Especially fun with 12 guage birds shot. Cons: old milk really stinks, and lugging 20 gallons of water around is not fun.
What I didn't like were pvc and cardboard targets, as it was really windy where we shot and they just fell over even with a ton of rocks put on the base.
