I have a desert tan one I bought out of CA. Looks (mostly) like a black one, comes off the same line, but is not on the roster. Sorry for you troubles, I truly feel your pain. Something as stupid as color makes the world of difference in this state. Same plastic different coloring pellets. Good luck.

Patience grasshopper... keep looking Or have an out of state FFL (Table Rock Arms in OR) for example receive the gun for you, then have it transferred to your FFL for a single shot exemption DROS. I'm doing that to get an off roster COONAN .357.

Where are you located? If you find someone willing to part with one in CA then it would be a PPT and SSE isn't required. If you purchase one from a dealer - Valkyrie Arms, PRK in Fresno, etc and find an FFL willing to accept and transfer a SSE (there's a whole list of CA FFL's) then you can have one no problem.

VA is pretty reasonable, but I have never seen an OD Green HK USP there. I did however find a seller out of state (as usual...) but would not ship into CA.

One of these days I will find one... Maybe by then the roster and mag laws won't keep me from getting one.
