I always wondered why SigArms was spending time pushing out a million different versions of the same guns while at the same time couldn't bother making a 1911 that ran smooth. Sheesh, even the Filipinos and Brazilians can do that...
Anyway, I’m still looking for good gossip, googling hasn’t satisfied my itch yet.
I have found that SigSauer is hiring though:

Too many stupid gun of the month (GOTM) pimp guns.
I remember the good old days of SIG when it was simple...
P220, P225, P226, P228, P229, and P230. Swiss/German perfection. Very professional, martial tools.
Nowadays, there are just too many subvariants that muddle the brand identity. It's as if SIGARMS put wheel cover spinners on an entire line of BMWs.Comment

Don't forget all the stories (with proof) of the horrible finishes they have been putting on CPO's.Comment

Sheesh, the more I dig, the worse it gets:

No slight against Pinoys intended. Hell, given the state of affairs today, I imagine a new Philippine or Brazilian car will outlast a new Ford
The high brow internet gurus tend to dismiss RIA or Brazilian 1911s out of hand, yet at over twice the price, New Hampshire made Sigs seem to have far more problems.* Freedom is the human right to live your life however you damn well please, so long as you don't interfere with another's right to do the same.

I did not feel you slighted anyone at all. It was just an opportunity to point out some fun facts relating to my culture since Armscorp/Rock Island are now making parts for STI.No slight against Pinoys intended. Sure, rub it in.
I like my Rock Island 1911, it's reliable and doesn't give me any problems. I also have a used Sig P229 that seems OK with no problems. Since I don't read any of the high brow Sig forums, I don't consider the Sig any better than any other steel frame gun I have.Comment

I guess this is what happens when some CEO of Kimber ends up getting a new poistion in SIG. I think SIG really needs to get their head screwed a bit better.

Top it off - Sig is screwing with dealers in regards to department trade-in guns. They intentionally overbid every gun coming in from departments, and will do it direct, so that the dealers make no money from selling to a department (unless the trade-in guns are from a different manufacturer, in which case they get a very small percent). It encourages dealers to push other guns rather than Sigs.Comment

I think their LE sales must be off and they are loosing market share. (I'm guessing)
Sig's customer service has been bad for sometime. They have an expensive product that is having trouble competing with Glock, Smith & Wesson, HK and Beretta.
I'm sure they can compete heads up with HK pistol to pistol but with the MP5sales HK can roll in a deal on pistols. Sigs are better heads up than the Smith's and the Italian trash but Smiths are cheaper and I don't know about Beretta's.
If you're a PD Glock makes a lot of sence. Glocks for the most part last longer than Sig, but there have been problems with the 21's. Glocks have fewer parts, more part interchangability between models, more models to fit different size hands, lighter (I think), cheaper parts, less expensive initial investment, same trigger pull every time, mags are cheaper, training should be easier with fewer levers.
If you are the dept. dollar and cents guy how do you justify the purchase of a Sig over the others?
I'm not a fan of Glock,HK or Sig. or Smith semi auto's I do own some except the Smith's. It's been along time since any of them have seen the light of day.I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.
When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.Comment
