Question for Imperial Valley/Yuma Az CG'ers

I am headed down to AZ with the wife in December, so we can visit her family who comes down from Washington State to winter in their Yuma home.

Anyway. My question is if anyone on here is familiar with the areas around Yuma, and if so, do you know any public lands in which shooting is allowed? I pretty much wanna stay close to the Yuma area, and Im not really willing to drive any farther than 30-45 minutes out.

Also, are out of state residents allowed to purchase Hi Cap magazines? I was planning on buying a couple of Ruger and Butler Creek 25 rd mags to keep out there at the family's home.

    Thanks for your help!!!

Yes, you can purchase any size magazines in AZ. It is perfectly legal and not a big deal. However, you might run into problems if you go into a gun store wearing a rainbow "I love California" shirt and flip flops and call everyone Duuuuude. Just pay cash and no one has to know where you're from. I should add that it is perfectly fine to pay with a cc, but you might run into some anti-California dealers that will give you a hard time.

I dont get the first part...

And in my original post, I never really asked about any gun stores, nor private ranges. I asked about shooting areas on public land.

                  Thanks for the info, though.
