    Need Advice

I received a gun in trade from a cal gunner last year and stuck it in my safe. It was one of those things that I got on trade and would probably not buy on my own. I placed the gun in my safe and never shot it. It was about 8 mounts later my friend wanted it. I took it to our FFl who is also our Gun Smith. He was going to put some accessories on it when he noticed the gun was broken. Bent ejector rod and stripped out butt stock and a jacked up fake can. I have since PM the cal gunner with no reply . He has a 100 % I trader and has many deals on it. I was looking for advice on how to handle the situation. I went through his post and found a post on the gun and the performance of it. I know he shot it and did not do the same as me and just pick it up on a deal and trade it off. Its been some time so am I just out, or should I ask for him make it rite?

Any problems should have been addressed ideally before the deal was consummated, or immediately once they became known. You should have verified that the gun was in good working order a LONG time ago. Today, it's your problem no matter what the actual facts are. Consider the statute of limitations expired on that deal.

I know it's probably not the answer you want to hear, but Rivers is right. You should have looked at it at the time of the trade and expressed your thoughts then. How could he honestly know if you didnt take it out and break it and now want him to fix it. IMHO you should PM him again and apologize for even bringing it up. Buyer beware.

BTW, I bought my truck over a year ago and now it needs an alternator. I wonder if the old owner knew about it and will fix it for me. Maybe I should call him....

Yeah.. .. So how would the OP know that..? Other than shooting it before he bought it... ? You would think that if someone was selling a firearm that they know if it is fully functioning.. OR if it is NOT then be up front about it... Unfortunately buyer beware because there are enough douche bags out there that are scammers, dishonest, or trying to make extra $$$$ on a deal... .. ..

Apples and Oranges trucks and guns, it looked in working order but I am no gun smith. Its a cheap $350 gun , and I will just have to eat it . I hope you don't have to take the fake can off of every gun to see if it was mounted correctly. I guess I have bought so many guns that I expect them to work when I get them and not take them out to the range prior to the deal. I would no sell junk to other people and expect the same in return.

I understand your point, and I understand your frustration. Truth be told I would be piZZed too. However, I believe that 8 months after the fact is water under the bridge and I have unfortunately washed a few gallons under the bridge myself.
