Can you engrave AR-15 lowers or just mark them?

There wont be an actual deep mark into the metal its a chemical reaction in the bluing that will make it turn bright white. This mark will not chip, flake or scratch off. The deep marking that is in lowers is usually done when the are machined.... what are you looking to have engraved?

Same thing happens all the time with Japanese writing and tattoo's. My Japanese buddy dies laughing every time he see's one.
