Donating Guns to the NRA or Youth Programs

I have two old shotguns that have been passed down to me, one made in the early 60's, and one from the early 70's. They are in working condition, but they aren't really valuable or collectable. They are about $150 each on Gunbroker as an example.

I don't just want to sell them because they are sentimental but I'd rather see them put to good use benefitting a youth program or the NRA. Here's a link to the NRA program for donating guns, but I think they just auction them off:

There's a youth shooting sports program in NC that accepts donations, but they just sell them on Gunbroker:

Are there any other programs that accept donations of firearms and actually use them rather than auctioning or selling them?

    Thanks.

In your profile it says your location is VC. Not sure where that is but if you are anywhere in the bay area you can call or email any local range that sponsors a youth program to see if they accept donations: http://www.dragunov.net/bay_area_ranges.html

I'm necromancing this thread because I just started looking into this myself. According to the NRA's "planned giving guide" pamphlet, every firearm donated to the NRA is reviewed by their firearms museum experts, and if you're still worried about it you can contact them to discuss your special shotguns.

        I'm Hunter Education Instructor
We instructors can always use guns (or any other equipment that can be used in Hunter Education Classes), for everything from demonstration to shooting.
We are non-profit (we dont get paid to teach, and any guns we demo, are our own, or donated to us)
We do have a non-profit organization which we can offer a tax ID
I can put you in touch with an Instructor local to you i'm sure.

If your location "VC" is Ventura County contact the Ojai Valley Gun Club's Junior Division at http://www.dock.net/ovgc/

I would like this info as well. After my parents passed away, I found a .22 rifle in the closet that I'd love to donate to a youth shooting team or instructor. If there is one in San Diego, please let me know via PM.

            Thanks!
