next build?

I built a 1911 and a m1a from a bare receiver, so whats next in this progression?

Thought about a tack driving 700 but my savage is just so damn accurate theres no reason.

the ar is not really a difficult build so there's not much of a challange.

Thought about a 1919 but belt fed just dosent seem like fun unless it goes full auto.

Built up any of your lowers recently ?

I was thinking about building up a lower into as close as I could get to a GI 1960s M16A1 complete with slick-side and three prong supressor. Makes a great companion to the M1A.

I assume you mean with out all of the problems of that era's design, right?

I built my fab10 and im waiting on the last of my parts from globaltactical.com (waiting 3 weeks). Getting worried about them not getting back to me on my $900+ order.

If I built an A1 style rifle my m1a and it would constantly fight in the safe, need to keep things civil in the family.

What problems? I have a vintage 65, no hiccups ever.

Josh, could you let us know how you installed a barrel on your M1A? Any special tools? Or did you buy a reciever kit with barrel already installed and headspaced?

i bought a polytech m14s and striped it down to the bare receiver.

To install the barrel I bought the brownells bolt lapping kit and barrel vise.

To remove extra material from the barrel shoulder I bought a sanding disk and placed it between the receiver and barrel as I screwed it on. Slowly sanding away material from the barrel shoulder untill it was properly timed to be torqued down the rest of the way.

Before torquing the barrel down I lapped in a USGI bolt to have more surface area to engage the lugs and then used a pull through reamer to chamber the barrel for the correct headspace.

very nice, but for some reason the sage stock never appealed to me on the m14 platform.
