Shooting target material

What is the best metal to use as a swivel target. not the stand but the actual target

For what caliber? From what distance? With what type of ammo? Etc.....

i use AR400 1/2 inch steel swing targets 11 inch around,home made. .22 cal to 300 win mag
.22 to .45 cal 75 yards and closer 223 to 300 win mag 70 yards and beyond with no damage to the target but very small pot marks.

for 5.56 to 30-06 at around 150 to 200 yards and just plinking rounds.
