    Impressive ammo collection

Helped a friend move today. His ammo collection was pretty impressive. I wonder if any of you guys can beat this. 4 trips with the truck loaded like this...

That's about the same as mine if it includes reloading components. If not, give me 3 weeks without my wife around and I can load everything up.

Nope no reloading components. Three weeks is way too much time, the zombies would overrun your position. No ammo, besides what I could sneak past him.

Should it ever happen, I've got enough to hold off the zombies (more than enough to carry with me if I need to leave) while a crew is working the presses.

I'd think that just being allowed to touch such an impressive ammo collection would be payment enough for me. If your friend offers to treat you to dinner for helping move the ammo you should probably decline. Or at least order the cheapest thing on the menu.

all I see is "$" signs in that truck. Heck even the ammo cans are geting expensive. Think of it as part of his 401k

You must be a strong man, when mine are half full it takes two of use to lift them in the truck.

Hm? those look like 50cal ammo cans. I've packed mine full many times. Just life using your legs, then haul up with your upper body. I figure they weigh about 60lbs full. the thing to watch out for is the handles. make sure they are in good condition because if one gives way while youre carrying -- make sure your feet get clear!!

now 80mm mortar cans... when THOSE are full you definitely need two guys. hell, the empty cans already weight 35lbs!!

as for ammo.. well.. you know the old adage.. buy em' cheap and stack em' deep. in all my years of shooting i have never heard of anyone complaining that they wasted their money on ammo. it retains its value amazingly well and lasts for at least 35 years... a 100 if corrosive primed.

Yeah I whoever thought the huge ammo cans were a good idea is a moron. I gave them a little tug and decided I didn't want to blow out an o-ring...

Cheap? Hell no I'm ready for some bird's nest soup, shark fin soup, and some abalone.

Nope not 50's they're mortar cans I believe, maybe 20mm cans. Yup even if he just sold his .308 surplus he'd make a tidy little sum.

At least we now know where the surplus went.

He should paint his ammo cans. Green brings a surprising amount of suspicion. I've painted all my cans different colors, so as not to alert the neighbors. Try a nice blue, white, or black.
