    ***Want to Sell forum***

I am of no authority and am not looking to get flamed.

I would just like to ask my fellow calgunners to please update sold items as such and tag them for deletion in the for sale section.

And.... if you guys are feeling extra nice, please post your location in your thread title.

I know a bunch of you guys are pros and already do this, so thanks.

This would help everyone (and me) buy the stuff you are trying to sell.

To the mods.... Would there be away to auto delete WTS ads after say 45 days?

From what I've read in previous threads, the Mods don't delete any WTS ads. I think it has something to do with the fact that when you give another person an iTrader rating, you have to provide a link to the ad. But I'm not sure if that's the exact reason.

Just check the date of the last post... I ignore anything that hasn't been bumped in a week or so.

What I love is when people PM me asking about an item which I haven't bumped in five months...

"Yep, I'm still trying to sell it, that's why I've let it slide to page 681 of the classifieds."

They usually don't reply after that; I wonder why? Their loss...

I'm one of those people who go back and search old FS threads and I've snagged some pretty good deals that way.

If people are still PMing you about your ads, why not clean up after yourself and mark them sold?

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.

            Seconded.

A lot of people give up bumping it after a while. That doesn't mean they don't want to sell it.

Plus it is good to keep archives for purposes of research.

When I sell something I go in and delete the pic and say sold. I don't like when people are so lazy they can even put SOLD on there own thread.

The conservative see's glass as half empty and tries to keep it that way.

So that means you don't even bother to mark your items as "sold" when they are?

I usually do, but when you're selling a crapload of stuff at once, sometimes one or two slip through the cracks.

Or sometimes I'll put a single line of text in my ads, "All items sold, thanks for looking." without editing out the price like some people do. What's the point of editing out the price? And people completely fail to read the message and message me anyways trying to lowball me on whatever item it is that they want. If they're gonna waste my time, I'll gladly waste theirs.

People are usually lazy and or do not want to deal with things like location or editing a title or in the OP that an item is SPF, SOLD or Withdrawn

and......if an item sells why not leave the price of the sold item in the listing? This way one could search and find the going rate for said items.

Why would I delete my ads? I'll edit them SOLD but theres no reason to mark them for deletion..

And sometimes just because an item hasn't been bumped in a couple weeks doesn't mean its sold. I've found some good deals on ads that were weeks old. You'll never know unless you ask. I wont bump it but I will definitely PM the member. Necro-bumps over a year old do give me the chuckles though. And guess who's the majority? NOOBS...

                          Per the Marketplace Rules:

                          7) Edit the title to show your items have been 'Sold'.
Once you have sold the item(s) in your classified ad that you have in the Marketplace, edit the title so it's obvious that the item(s) have been sold'. Do not create a post just to say your item is sold. The moderating team does not delete threads simply because a transaction is completed, so please do not ask.

I think if they can't put the Location in the Title, the Post should be deleted & let them try again.
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

I'm one of those people who do not bump ads after a few bumps, so I still have the items and in 6 months someone PMs asking if I sold them I do not take offense. I know they used a google search which showed my thread and they do not see the item they are looking for listed as SOLD.

I am in no rush to sell, so I dont bump everytime I can and sometimes I just forget I have the item for sale...LOL
