    Shooters Paradise Oxnard

Wow- Nice range. Good inventory but it is HIGH.

All their stuff is marked up ~$200.00 per weapon. If they would just be competitive with the stores like Island View Enterprises, Blue Water etc in Ventura, I bet their business would thrive. I will say there never seems to be a lack of customers completing the DROS though.

They already made a good move in turning over some of the help there.

    Make the next step?

Oh- And let us shoot our own reloads instead of the 'winclean' mandate.

THIS I avoid that place like the plague. I'd much rather deal with Island View or even BlueLine.

Nice indoor range that you can shoot shotgun and rifle (magnetic/steel cased is ok), but their prices and policies are ridic. They illegally try to charge ridiculous amounts for PPT's. Their clean ammo and no reloads policy is laughable and their gun prices are more than anywhere in town. I miss the Agoura range...

I had a bad experience my first time in Shooter's paradise; tried haggling a little on an AR lower (cash, paid upfront, leveraged competition) and was told to go buy it elsewhere if I could find a better price. I was told by 2 other gun shops in Ventura that is the norm for the place. They speculated the owners make all their money from their range and the gun sales as aforementioned is just a bonus for them. Terrible way to run a business and it seems apparent on these forums.

I bought some of their completely overpriced "safe ammo" to shoot there a while back. Now I am told it isn't good enough and I need to use some of their new "lead safe ammo" even though the prior bought ammo has their upc code on it. That was the last straw...

Shooters Paradise has got to be the worse Range/FFL in Ventura County... I haven't been there in 5 years, will never go back, ever. Don't care if I have to drive 1 hour. They will get my spit before I ever give them some of my hard earned money. Shooters Paradise is a JOKE.

Ditto. We need to have a daily countdown until the new Island View Enterprises range opens.

and please remember the range and store are two different places under one roof. the store is leased from the range owner. maybe blame the range owner for charging the store so much in rent LOL

I can't think of an excuse to treat customers like dirt... give me a few minutes I will have a good explaination for that as well...

I got it... they are all transplants from the East Coast and treating people like dirt and scum (those who are not LEO) is just their way of being friendly. "So F-off you POS and die"... thats a New Yorkers way of saying "I love you".

I'll never buy anything from thier store and 90% of their staff is super rude (might be the sales side?).

But I have to say that aside from their rules about clean pistol ammo, their range is not bad at all.

                    I'll admit, looks-wise it's run down. Distance-wise, it's not all that far.

But for $12 I can stay there as long as I want and for $4 more I can bring a friend. And this was their price with no other ranges in town competing for patrons...
I can shoot any of my rifles.
I can shoot any of my shotguns.
                    They don't care if I shoot wolf/other steel-cased/steel-core ammo.
They don't care if I pick up my brass from the floor.

I see a lot of posts about "I can't wait until Island View or Blue Line open their ranges..." and not just in this thread, but every "Shooter's Hell" thread. Honestly, for me, price is the number 1 factor and unless Island View can beat $12/day or offer a substantially better quality/distance range, I might have to stick with SP.

Actually, now that I look at it. Island View is offering a non-member rate of $18/hour + $8/hour for a friend to use their range. No way I would pay that unless their range goes out to like 50yds and offers massages or something.

I have no reason to set foot in Shooter's Paradise.

The whole lead free thing there is a farce as well. I have my doubts about their reloads being lead free. When I used to shoot there I purchased some lead free ammo online, kept the boxes, and just packed them with whatever ammo I had when I'd go back to shoot there.

But the gun prices are ghastly at B&G Guns Sales. Of course, if you don't like the place, don't patronize it. I use Uncle Paul's and shoot out at A Place To Shoot or in Piru at second amendment valley. Indoor shooting is just zero fun, anyway.
