Anybody read the comments.... Would like to reach through the computer and flick the guy, who says all permits should be taken away in a civilized society, in the temple. His argument might be valid if we were a civilized society. Why is everything good???? Illegal, Immoral, fattening???

From the article it seems as though almost everyone that applies, gets a permit. In Sac the number of permits given out in 7 months is 4 times as much as the whole year of 2010.

For about 12 years I had a LTC permit issued by Placer County. I decided not to renew it because it seemed more trouble than it was worth, given all the restrictions in place. Now, with all the issues going on in our state, am rethinking that decision.
A few years back the Placer County Sheriffs Personnel were very friendly toward permit holders, but changing politics made getting a permit more difficult. I don't recall if the process became harder when Captain Hutchinson became involved, but I do know that a Sheriffs Deputy told me changes in who was administering the permits meant more applications were being turned down and that renewal was no longer pretty much automatic. The pressure being applied by Calguns can only be positive in my view.Comment

County population is a primary factor for CalGuns? ||Originally posted by Auburn JournalHoffman said the information in the statements – which are now available online but heavily redacted to eliminate any chance of identifying applicants – can show reasons Ventura County Sheriff Geoff Dean considers acceptable for obtaining a carry license. It would be better to issue permits on a “shall” basis, which wouldn’t require applicants to detail their need – and wouldn’t make that information potentially public, he said.
Placer County is a smaller county in terms of population so the foundation hasn’t mounted a legal fight against Sheriff Ed Bonner, he said.

I want to know why the 30 were ejected. The two-step procedure allows applicants to bow out without having to pay the full fee upfront and then being rejected, Hutchinson said. Out of 577 applications in 2010, 30 were rejected.Comment
