You can get foam from fabric stores, like JoAnn's, or from a reupholstry shop.

If you're looking for the eggcrate style you can find that at some medical supply houses.

The best/easiest way to cut foam accurately is with an old style electric carving knife. It has two blades that move opposite of each other.
