Perhaps he should have read the sign a bit more carefully. SURE it said "Anti-Cruelty Society", but right underneath was "veterinary clinic".

I doubt that the clinic vet-who coincidentally was a WWII vet-would have shot a four legged animal, but two legged versions seem to be fair game.

I wonder how many "vets" are actually "vets"? Bad luck for Mr. Thug.

Even though police say it appears the shooting was justified, they will still send the case to the prosecutor. That is standard procedure in cases like this.
Pity they insist on things like this.

hi 5 for that old man protecting his money and property.
this is lame --> Even though police say it appears the shooting was justified, they will still send the case to the prosecutor
Today, we have done what we had to do. They counted on America to be passive... they counted wrong.

Don't mess with WWII vets. Great Grandpa might be close to 90, but he survived the war and will tear you to pieces if push comes to shove.

That's disappointing. How about displaying a little common sense and recognizing that the guy was defending his life? Now he's going to have to spend a bunch of money on an attorney just to convince the DA to exercise some common sense and drop the case.

Edit: OK, a couple of people ahead of me said the same thing. But why didn't any of those responses show up when I first clicked onto this thread. There were only three comments when I posted my reply, I swear. :-)

A win for the good guys. I agree slam dunk self defense, the DA should lay off.
Right now an elite class far away from most of us, is over taxing us and trying to tell us how to live and regulate our lives? I bet that sounds familar to George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.

Yet one more failure of the victem selection process.

Note to wanna-be thugs: Don't mess with WWII veterans, they are the greatest generation because they are the toughest generation.

Because it's not the police's job to evaluate whether or not the case should be prosecuted. It's the DA's job. That doesn't mean he will be.
