No doubt in Alabama they will look at the situation and say that Penn was breaking the law and an 81 year old widow is no match against a 25 year old male.

Here in California, I suspect that blissninny prosecutors would say he didn't pose a credible threat and/or he was "only" tresspassing, so she shouldn't have fired.

Also, if she's renting and only getting by with social security and disability lawyers would say she's judgement-proof. But if she owns her house a lawyer will be all too eager to force her to sell it off to pay legal bills.

For what it's worth, based on the article alone, I don't know that she should have fired. His size, the age disparity, proximity and any words exchanged would have a bearing on that. But I can tell you that if it came to sitting as a juror in a civil suit where a tresspasser/burglar is suing an elderly homeowner, there's little chance I'd be supporting the criminal.

Great now every criminal knows that she is unarmed. They need to give her gun back to her. For this very reason everybody should own at least two firearms. Good for her her and I'm glad to hear that even at 81 years old she can still put her rounds on target!

Hmm.. show me a 81 year old citizen who hasnt shot a gun before. . . Things are different in this generation than they were back then. Im pretty sure she knew how to use a gun. Just because she didnt double tap center mass and kill shot between the eyes doesnt mean she doesnt know how to use a gun.
