When did Romania switch from 7.62X39 to 5.54x39?

    When did Romania switch from 7.62X39 to 5.54x39?

    Was trying to find the exact year I know it was after 1974 duh, but can't find a site with that information.

        Romania is not due to be operationally integrated into NATO until 2015, which means they will have to change over to a 5.56x45mm rifle, so until then, the Romanians will continue to use the PA Md 86. This means it will be a few years yet, before we start seeing PA Md 86 parts kits being available in the US.

          I hope the new president will change the importing barrels thing. It would be a shame to destroy the barrels of those kits.

            I hope the feds get sane and abolish the Hughes Amendment then allow importation of any firearm.
