is it true that one could make a 50 bmg firearm as long as it does not have a buttstock because that would make it a rifle

if that is so can one make a detachable mag center fire pistol grip other because it would not be an assault rifle or pistol as it would have a oal of more than 26 inches and barrel of more than 16?

It is true that .50BMG semi-auto only M2HB firearms are CA legal because they are not "rifles" under CA law.

This issue has been brought up several times in the past, the people in the know say don't go there because if you do, you'll throw roadblocks into the strategy to take down the CA AWB.
