    Cornershot on Top Shot

Kolby kept saying corner shot uses a Glock 18, I thought the Glock 18 was full auto??

being that a corner shot turns a pistol into a short barrel rifle i think they have to use someone registered 18 cause a full auto is already the pinnicle of evil and you probably dont have to register a full auto pistol as a sbr

^This^ A Glock 18 is a select fire pistol. The selector is on the left side of the slide that switches between semi-auto on one setting and full-auto on the other.

It is. I think I would have switched it over to full for the practice session.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't the actual Glock 18, just not in the corner shot.

I was looking for the selector, and I did NOT see one. In fact I went back and checked. In the very first picture, and then again throughout the practice and the shooting there is NO selector on that slide.

                It's "just" a G17 with a 33 Round Magazine.

I saw it just last night, and I think I saw one of those aftermarket full-auto switches on the back. But then again why they would use a converted 17, say it was an 18, but then never use it in full-auto?

It really did bother me when they kept saying it was a Glock 18 when it clearly wasn't. I know it really doesn't matter, but you'd think they could tell the difference between a post-'86 select fire machine pistol and a Glock 17 that every third police department in the country issues..

When they said "Glock 18" I started to look for the selector, and I'm pretty sure it's visible during the actual elimination challenge. I didn't roll back to the practice to check it out for sure... hehe. I don't have screens handy to show, but I can probably grab some if you guys want.

I can't imagine the CornerShot would be very controllable in full auto when it's cranked over to one side... but I'd love to find out in-person if anyone has one handy!

edit: just because you got me thinking about it, i loaded up the video and what i thought was the selector in some of the video footage was actually just an extended slide release. i'm thinking they put on a G17 just to prevent any "user error" from accidentally moving the selector in the heat of the competition.

the "glamour" shot where they do a slow pan over the weapon system very clearly shows no happy-switch on the Glock. (See below)

I don't know, I saw some pretty clear shots of both sides of the gun and there wasn't any selector switch that I saw. It's pretty hard to miss too, left side of the gun, big circle that takes out half the serrations. I clearly saw full serrations on both sides of the gun. In slow motion too.

so i guess their producers/editors assume the audience can't tell the difference.

I was a little suspicious, but I don't really care since its the better of the 2 shows on the big cable channels. I was shocked and impressed by Jake's performance, even though the producers have convinced me he's a douche.

That makes me feel better, you know that they assume that I'm a complete moron in the field I've spent years studying. Makes me feel right at home...

Yeah, Jake did good on the elimination round, but he's definitely the top candidate for douche of the season. He's had an attitude and ego all season, first time he gets voted into elimination, it's "FU team!". I hope the Red team goes on a roll from here.
