Buncha 556, who wants that?!? Lol

What would this stuff be packaged like just in case some one try's to hawk it here or at a show?

14000 rounds sounds like a fun way to spend a Saturday morning

That is such a small number that I'm surprised it was even caught. The fact that the Army caught it tells me that it was probably an accounting/communication error.

I read somewhere that the army is tightassed when it comes to ammo for training , something like 50 rds a year vs Marines virtually unlimited ammo supply.

I bet that ammo is sitting in boxes marked Xe now.

Not true. I went through about 500 rounds this week at the range, and am gonna be at the range again Monday. Active duty Army.

Bingo. The Army should be commended for being able to keep track of guns and ammo as well as it does. Always impressed me when I did my stint.

This shouldn't be national news, let alone front page material. I find the fact that it is disturbing and suspicious. Prepping the public for new attacks on the 2A?

If you look at the comments being made on the news websites there are a lot of idiots thinking it's part of some huge terrorist plot for 9/11. Hard to convince them that 14K rounds ain't squat. If you count my bricks of .22lr, I've probably got half that in my safe. Lame.

Their job is to sell newspapers. This sounds like sensational Pulitzer prize winning material to the 99% of reporters out there that know absolutely nothing about firearms.

EXTRA! EXTRA! An entire pallet of ammo is missing!

Never mind about 2500 AR's that were intentionally put in the hands of a drug cartel.

Looks like this is pretty exciting to the news media.

It's not that much ammo. Not even an entire layer on a pallet, that's like a fifth or a sixth of a pallet.

That's about 12 x 20 round magazines for a 60 man platoon. I'm sure Ft. Bragg uses up 14,000 rounds every hour in a normal training day.

I could fit that much in the trunk of the Honda and have plenty of room for a few cases of Pepsi to use as targets.

No, its not. I laughed when I read that article because 14k is nothing. Its not even a pallet full. We use a lot more than that just for a basic qual course.
