Damnit Big 5. My gun is missing parts.

I just picked up one of these from Big 5 after my 10-day:

I got it home, cleaned it up, put in some snap caps... and realized it wasn't popping out the snap caps like it's supposed to. After looking at the exploded diagram, it turns out it's missing the ejector spring and the ejector spring pin.

I'm kind of pissed right now.

Are they able give me a different gun and change the serial on the DROS or will I have to wait another 10 days?

I would call the manufacturer, and to be honest, that's why a local gun shop is your best friend, most would just fix it for free if the manufacturer doesn't cover it

you would have to wait another 10days. I would see if they will give you the parts out of another gun.

At Big5, I doubt that will happen.

Different gun requires another 10 day wait. I had something like this happen to me at Big 5 too.

They will tell you to contact the manufacturer. It is under warranty.

You shouldn't have to wait for anything, the DROS is open for 30 days and no serial numbers go in for a longarm. The 4473 will need to be amended or just redone.

That shotgun does not come with ejectors. It is has an extractor instead. You're "unfortunately" stuck with it as it is since it is not returnable and isn't broken.

The great news is that they are lots of fun and if you don't like it, there are lots of SASS folks who would pick it up from you.

if you're talking about "popping" as in they fly away when you break it open; i don't think stoegers do that. there are break actions that "pop" shells out, and others just lift the shells and you have to pluck out each one. i think the correct verbiage is extractor vs ejector

That is a completely different shotgun than the one from the Big 5 add.

All Stoeger coach shotguns do not come with ejectors that pop the shells out, they come with extractors that lift them away from the chamber. This is so they are legal for SASS competition. You can watch the video and they will tell you that the coach guns come with extractors if you listen closely. It is still a really neat little shotgun.

I just realized I linked the wrong gun. Mine is the JW-2000. That pdf manual is the same one that came in the box.

bought a shot gun once from Big5, similar situation
bring your reciept back to the exact location (NOT any big5)
they will replace it with a new one but that means another 10days

if the manager is kool, he might swap some parts out for you...i doubt it !
