I had a customer offer me an older springfield armory 1911 (probably early 2000's or late 90's) instead of paying me the 800 dollars that he owed me. It was in exellent condition and looked dark grey kinda like the new operator. Am i a dumb ***** for not taking it. I didnt want to hassle with transfer fees or trying to resale it.

Better to let go of a possible "great opportunity" than to get stuck with a lemon.
If you missed something good, you still didn't LOSE anything.
With a lemon, you lost what you expected to get AND you're stuck getting it fixed/rid of it."You will never know how much it has cost my generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it."

"You will never know how little my generation has traded away our freedoms and rights for. I'm sorry and ashamed for what we've left to the following generations."

Without knowing the model its not really possible to tell if the trade was worthwhile for you or not.I had a customer offer me an older springfield armory 1911 (probably early 2000's or late 90's) instead of paying me the 800 dollars that he owed me. Sounds like a Mil-Spec Operator to me. At $800 it sounds about right, assuming full rail parkerized Operator, correct? Those were available early 2000s and I didn't see many of them available at that time.I had a customer offer me an older springfield armory 1911 (probably early 2000's or late 90's) instead of paying me the 800 dollars that he owed me. Unless you were in the market specifically for that particular model, your not a dumb--- IMHO. Although taking the deal would be nice for the other guy, it would be the same as an impulse buy. He should sell it, give you the cash, you buy what want, end of story."Don't make the same mistake twice or you might never get to them all."Comment

lacking detail
More detail is needed before we can comment intelligently.I had a customer offer me an older springfield armory 1911 (probably early 2000's or late 90's) instead of paying me the 800 dollars that he owed me.
