Gun Storage ?

Hello,
I have some used pistols that I purchased a few years ago that came without
the original gun boxes. I keep them in my gun safe uncovered. I recently purchased a new pistol that came in its factory box and I was just wondering if I should store it in my safe out of the box or in it? The reason I ask is because of moisture and possible rust problems.

When in doubt, whip it out. Think out of the box. Seriously though, store it out of the box, or at least in a silicon sock.

If you are just laying the guns down in your safe, at least buy some soft gun cases for them. I think you can find them for under $10 each.
I hate to see guns coming in contact with metal surfaces or other guns during storage.

My safe has thin carpeted shelves. I wipe them down with a silicon rag after I
handle them. I purchased silicon socks for my rifles in the past, 5-6 years ago can't remember but I believe that they collected moisture and I got rid of them.

i lay my handguns flat on various shelves in the safe. they do not come in contact with each other or other objects in the safe.

I have these too. Very soft on the gun, but seem a little flimsy to me. I guess you can't have it both ways. I prefer it over the metal vinyl coated ones I have seen.
