    voluntary handgun registration

To make a longe story short. My friends relative gave him a revolver that his roomate left behind. He still owed him some money so he told him to keep what ever he left in his room and discard what ever he didnt want. The current owner of the gun is clean no felonies and told him that the gun was registered to him legaly. But He moved out of state.

My friend want to fill out a voluntary registration and pay $19. On the app it asks, "what size barrel"?

Which size should he put on there ? This lucky bastard got a Dan Wesson 357. with 4 interchangeable barrels.
Oh and case with a danwesson matching beltbuckle.

First off: the transfer was illegal and just filling out and sending in this form isn't necessarily going to make it legal but will probably fix up the situation enough to keep your friend from getting into too much trouble.

Now that the disclaimer has been stated, pick on of the barrels and put that down. You can also put something like "Multi" or "Interchangeable Barrels". But there's nothing wrong with picking, say, the 4" barrel and just putting that down. If the gun has a 6" barrel on it at some point, no law is broken.

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.
