    Nope, as long as when you sell it here is not an Assault Weapon and you go through an FFL for the transfer if the long gun is less than 50 years old. (This assumes that when you move here you establish residency in Ca.)

      Like Frank said, you're fine. Also, California is one of the many states that does not require any form of "registration" on (non AW/50BMG rifles) long guns. So, I'm not sure why you are asking this in the first place?????

        What if you can't or won't establish residency, say like military personnel? Can they still sell their firearms here in California?

          Yes, as long as the firearms involved can be transfered to a Ca resident. However, since the transaction is not between two California residences, it would not be a PPT and the FFL could charge whatever they want to for their transfer services.
