    High School Shooting in Cleveland

A gunman opened fire in a downtown high school on Wednesday, and a witness said he saw three people taken out on stretchers.

Mayor Frank Jackson later said that the school had been secured, although police were searching floor by floor.

Ronnell Jackson, 15, said he saw a shooter running down a hall at SuccessTech Academy.

"He was about to shoot me but I got out just in time," he said. "He was aiming at me I got out just in time."

Another student, Doneisha LeVert, said she heard the principal say "Code Blue" over the public address system, and the students started running. She said she hid in a closet with some of her friends.

Tammy Mundy, 38, who has a son and daughter at the school, told The Plain Dealer of Cleveland that her daughter called when the shooting started.

"She said, 'Mom they're shooting in here, kids are running out, I'm hiding in the closet,'" Mundy told the newspaper.

Then she called her 18-year-old son, Darnell Rodgers, on his cell phone, and he told her he had been shot in the arm.

"He said, 'Mom I got shot,'" Mundy told the newspaper.

I was just about to post this.

What in the world is going on with all these shootings at schools across the country? I can just hear all the anti-gun liberals screaming to ban ALL guns.

I feel bad for those high school kids in Cleveland.

Rather than banning guns we should ban public schooling... that seems to be the common factor.

yeah... these school shootings make guns look bad. nobody bothers to look at all the instances where guns saved women from being raped, families from being robbed, or people from being killed. Let's ignore all that, and point the finger at the bad only.
pain in the *** anti-gun liberals.

Its all over the news right now here at work.. seems like its been playing for hours already

THe news people stated that the school is for above average students?? But the kid they just interviewed sounded like a DIP SH*T. And that the shooter was a friend of his...he stated the shooter always said that he worshiped the devil and that the shooter woulld let him and another friend live if he shot up the school - which he had mentioned a month earlier.

Suposedly the shooter/kid either shot himself?? Not sure what happened but they are saying he is dead...

Edit: All the kids they are interviewing ... sound ghetto

wait what? I though guns weren't allowed on or near schools.

You're 100% correct. This incident couldn't of happened because schools are indeed gun free zones.

Give the teachers an option to arm themselves. Some teachers would not even think twice about being able to put down a student or gunman, but there are some who would. Allow those who would step up to the plate the opportunity to save lives.
A guy told me one time "don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat from around the corner"

apparently now school zones=kill zones. when are people going to wake up to the fact that students (21+) and teachers need to be able to protect themselves.

It's a school for poor kids. And I guess being across from the FBI office gave parents and teaches another false sense of security....

                            Clod

                            From Yahoo:
The small, alternative high school is in the center of downtown across from the FBI's offices and three blocks from where the Cleveland Browns play football. The school enrolls 240 students grades nine through 12 and emphasizes technology education. All the students are poor under federal poverty guidelines.
