Do a search for "World's Finest Earplugs". Those little blue dots are absolutely amazing, reusable, and not very expensive. Those moldable plugs and a good set of muffs should do a great job. Also, as mentioned previously, make sure your shooting glasses are not creating a gap between your head and your muffs.

Hope you find something that works!

I tried to find the NRR on their site, but was unable to.

It may be the case of finding the right type of foam plug that works for you.

Then again, it might not be.

I tried every foam plug I could find before going with the custom made plugs.

I order a sample pack from one of the online hearing protection sellers, with 30 or 40 different types of plugs from hard rubber, to different designs in plugs to different softness for foam, etc.

Some worked better than others, but none worked properly ever time.

If you have oddly shaped ear canals (I have basically a 90 degree bend in the one that was giving me issues with foam plugs) then you may not be able to find a foam plug that works for you.

I just put this out as an FYI for those who are trying to find a solution, having done the footwork on trying to solve the problem for me.

$100 (you can get it done less via mail order over the internet) seems like a lot when you are talking about using $2-3 foam plugs.

Don't forget: 1) the foam plugs wear out after some uses and you do need to replace them. So you are not just spending $2-3. You are spending that every so often, depending on how much you shoot. 2) As long as you don't lose your custom plugs, it's pretty much a one time fee. 3). If you lose your hearing $100 will seem pretty cheap.

I was deaf before, so my ears are very sensitive. I'll see if Sportsmen Warehouse has any self molded kits and I'll use my brother as a guinea pig.
