    MAIL A PISTOL OR UPS

Is there a legal means to mail or UPS my pistol to me without going through the airline hassle? I did try a search on the site but found nothing

US postal can only be used if you have a FFL
UPS or Fedex if you do not.

Easier/cheaper to just fly with it.

Yep, US mail has all sorts of rule, FedEx and UPS is really the only way, plus I can't see an FFL dealing with USPS anyway given other options.
Before there was Polymer there was Accuracy.

You would be surprised. It's dirt cheap for a FFL to ship a handgun through USPS compared to being required to ship overnight by UPS or Fedex.
Yeah, I know there's no law that says they must use overnight shipping. It's a requirement enforced by the shipper.

I looked into doing this once. I decided the 'airline hassle' was easier than dealing with and paying a company like FedEx or UPS.

People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

For years FedEx has required that an FFL be on at least one end of each firearms shipment. So you can't use them to ship a firearm to yourself.

As of a couple of months ago, UPS has adopted this same policy. So you can no longer use UPS to ship a firearm to yourself (unless you have an FFL).

The USPS is now the only option for shipping firearms to yourself, but you can't ship handguns via the USPS unless the shipment is between licensed manufacturers and/or licensed dealers.
