Look in the phone book for Security Guard. Somewhere you'll find the Academies that do the training there. It's not all that difficult to do, but it'll take you 40 hours for the full Guard Card and then another 16-ish for the firearms permit. You can begin working as soon as your name shows up in the BSIS as being issued a Guard Card. The firearms permit is a whole different deal. You may NOT carry on duty until you have your permit in hand. That can take a few months for the BSIS to do their background check and then issue the permit.

Most of of your questions should be able to be answered at http://www.bsis.ca.gov somewhere on that site. I do not have a Guard Card nor the Gun Permit... so I can't speak from personal experience about that.

        Where do you live?
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.
