    Finally decided on a .45:

After reading and researching over the past few months, going between Glock, Smith & Wesson, Sig and anything else I could find, I've finally made up my mind on the .45 I'm going to own.

My first .45 is going to be a Colt 1911 model O1970RG, 80 series. I've decided on the two-tone rail gun with the 100 year service mark. I should be doing paperwork on it in the next month or two.

Not mine, but a fine example:

And the grips I plan on using:

            I think so too!
After everything, including transfer and DROS, around $1300-ish.

VZ's are pretty good grips, but IMO, I'm all over a blued gun with wood or wood looking grips, those Aliens should look good on your Colt though, congrats on the new Roscoe

PS...don't listen to everybody that would have you remove the Series 80 parts, you can get a nice trigger pull with them still there

yeah, those VZ's look great on 1911's. I'm thinking of replacing my Pachmyrs with VZ's.

                  Nice looking gun too.

Amen, it took me a few months to find the Colt I carry daily, it took me 6mo to figure out what I wanted in a custom, now I'm planning on ordering it in Oct

You realize they make a little $4 shim that takes care of that problem right?

To the OP, nice gun.....I want the all black one ever since I saw it at Valkyrie Arms.
