I was at Barnes & Noble and picked up a copy. Pretty good read, If you're new to the AR, might be interesting to you.

Is this the one put out by Guns and Ammo? Has a an article of the 6.5 and 6.8SPC; an article how it all started when Gen. Curtis Lemay wanted to order 20,000? then it's a great book. If it's not the one I'm talking about can we see the cover?
ThanksAlways be in Doubt.Comment

There is a Gun Digest one too that I forgot about. I was referring to the same one you were vrylak. I have no experience with the GD version but the G&A one I thought was pretty good.Originally posted by vrylakIs this the one put out by Guns and Ammo? Pretty good readin, picked one up last week.Comment

I think it was intended for people who are already familiar with the AR. There aren't any articles about how it works, how to maintain it, how to shoot it. Except for the one article about the history of the gun, the articles seem to be more focused on the different variants and accessories that are available for the rifle than the actual rifle itself.Somebody wake up Hicks.Comment

I had been reading and reading on AR15.com and wanted a good resource...I was recommened Some of the Answer: Advanced Urban Carbine and I am DEFINEATELY not disappointed.
It covers everything from basics of the gun to combat tactics. It is easy to read and HIGHLY illustrated.
It is written by Jim Crews and his email is jimcrews@sprynet.com. I think there is a link somewhere on ar15.com but I am too lazy to find it.
