Folding Stock Question

Rifle is considered a AW if its over all length is less than 30 inches, is that stock folded or unfolded? I know dumb but have to ask.DOJ page is down

For CA law ya under 30 is a AW if memory serves me correctly.

If the rifle is folded and is under 30 inches it is illegal in Commiefornia.

I put a 4.5inch barrel extender on my AK so I could fold the underfolding stock. Now I just need to get that "James Maddux Anti-Folding Stock Screw" out

Folding Stock Question

Saved me from a lot of headaches, thanks, cant believe it, folded its 29 and 3/4 if you rotate the rear sling swivel it is 30. Finer that frog hair, thats 2 close to me. Ill put the regular stock on it until I can get a longer muzzle brake.

What brake are you using? Is it just a regular AK47? If your using a slant brake you could slap on a krinkov or 74 style brake. DPHArms.com has a 2inch barrel extender.

Bolt-action OAL folded is required to be 26 inches

Its not a AK, its a DSA SA 58 clone, the brake is from DSA a batf approved model made in the US I thought of changing it to a para but when I replaced the stock to check it , its a no go 1/4 inch short, ok with the regular stock and that muzzle brake, good thing I checked.

How short is the barrel? Must be less than 18" if your para is short of 30". By my calculations for mine you can go down to about 18.25 or 18.5 and that will give you about 30.5" OAL.
