    AR-15 & magazines

Hey, new to guns here. I have a stag arms model 8 AR-15 and bought some magpul magazines. Was having a fun time at the range and all of sudden, as i was firing, the magazine drops. I'm thinking the magazine is too thin, I don't know. The aluminum magazine that came with the rifle never drops and it's thicker than the magpuls... anyone know what's going on?

Is this a one-time occurrence, or repeated?

With any magazine - but especially, I've noticed, with fully loaded Magpuls - it's important to make sure and properly seat it. Just give it an extra tap/shove/push/bump/etc. after inserting it.

If it continues then it would seem to be a very rare defect with the mag, but my money is on just needing to seat it better.

+2. I have the same problem from time to time as well. Just smack it hard. You can't hurt it.

and our leaders allow themselves to be spoon fed with foreign BS and have forgotten that the great majority of americans do not live in secluded gated comunities with private security 24/7 like they do, while the rest of us are subject to defending ourselves without Police escorts whenever we need it. they dont realize we are subject to different dangers than they are, and we must have and keep the right do defend ourselves!

if it's any consolation, if you don't load a Magpul to the max, they're much easier to seat

My guess is, if you load the Magpuls on an open bolt, you won't have this problem. If you load them on a closed bolt, then yeah, give them a good whack to make sure they are properly seated.

Since they are blocked to only accept 10 rounds, there can be some variations in tolerance. Usually the people that sell the blocked mags want to be absolutely sure that an 11th round can not be inserted which in turn leaves little room for the follower to compress after the 10th round.

Maybe the collar on the bullet button is loose. I noticed the opposite with pmags, they always seat easily, the gi type need the whack.
                        And yep VVV

That's why the rebuild kit and a internal block is best, then epoxy the floorplate or ranger plate in place.
