    Private party transfer and shipping

So I have my LAR 8 for sale. I'm in norcal and the buyer is in socal. Now for the transfer to even be done, both parties have to be present to sign and do finger printing correct? I have the shipping method covered, just doing the actual transfer has me confused.

    Any input would be appreciated

And sorry if I posted in the wrong forum

From your post it appears that you are shipping it. Assuming you have made it CA compliant,

Make sure you get a copy of the FFL's license that you are shipping the gun to. Best to make sure the FFL is legit by going to FFL ezchek. https://www.atfonline.gov/fflezcheck/
I always ask for a copy of the sellers DL. Not legally required, but at least provide your name address and phone number for the FFL (just in case the DROS unwinds later). Be prepared to have an FFL ready on your end should the deal unwind as the FFL will not be able to send you the gun back directly.

You do not have to be present to complete any paperwork as you are too far away to drive there.

The buyer will complete paperwork at his FFL and you are good to go.

Make sure you secure a bona fide payment prior to shipping the firearm.

    Thats about it.

After hours of searching I found my answer. Some good info that should probably be stickied in the private firearm sale section http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...6&postcount=24
