Lost The Card!!

Hi I lost my wallet for the 1st time EVER in my life!
I lost my handgun card!
Do I have to pay and retake the test OR can I go to the original place I got that card at and get a new one for FREE!..ya right!..

If I lose my Handgun Safety Certificate (HSC) can I get a replacement?
Yes. A replacement Handgun Safety Certificate (HSC) is available only through the DOJ Certified Instructor who issued your HSC. The HSC replacement cost is $15. The replacement HSC will reflect the same expiration date as your original HSC.

I did not know that...hmmm guess I will need to purchase some ammo and shoot some there!...I have always liked their steel target set-up!

Similar thing happened to me awhile back, lost my HSC card.

For me, it was more convenient to just pay the $25 and retake the test at a closer location, rather than driving all the way back to the place where I originally got my card. But the main thing was that I thought about it and only had 3 years left to go before I needed to renew it. So I just got a new one so I had a fresh 5 years to go with buying handguns. To me, the extra $10 wasn't a big deal.
