15 day waiting period? =(

Just bought a Marlin 60SS at Markleys and they told me that the waiting period was gona be 15 days, and the rifle was in stock. After taking a look at a calendar, I assume that they aren't counting the day of sale or weekends.

Is this normal?

Sorry for the total noob post, I googled but couldn't find anything with the acception of not counting the day of sale.

The wait is 10 24 hour periods from when you complete the DROS.
Weekends count.

It should be only 10, 24 hour periods. Some places make you wait an extra day, but I've never heard of 15 unless they're closed a few days before you pick up.

The waiting period for the purchase or transfer of handguns and long guns is ten (10) 24-hour periods from the date and time of the acceptance of the DROS information by the DOJ and the assignment of the unique DROS number.

Oh I see, They're closed Tuesday & Wednesday and I bought the gun (today, monday) at 8pm when DROS was prolly closed, but even then I should be able to pick it up on Saturday the 13th.

Hmm.. I'll have to call and check on Thursday, maybe the guy was just out of it, or they don't allow pickups on the weekends (which would be odd, since they are open on the weekends).

Wouldn't hurt to call anyway, 3 weeks ago I was in there and there was a guy who came in to pick up his gun, only to find out that they never submitted the forms to DROS... what a bummer...

Doesn't matter whether they're open for counting days, just on that 10th day so it's possible to pick up the gun.

If you bought the gun Oct 1, 8 pm, you can legally pick it up Oct 11, 8:01 pm, because the 10 days will have elapsed.

Presuming, of course, the DROS was actually started, and the DOJ doesn't reply with a "don't sell".
