Triple A's Sporting Goods is Awesome

I had good expriences at this place located in Vallejo and just wanted to share.

It all started with a PPT for a Kimber bought here @ Calguns.

We both selected this store purely for the location and comments on Yelp.

I walked in the store with the other party, was greeted promptly with a smile and how can I help you (great start in my eyes).

We told him we were there for a PPT and then he said "can I please inspect the firearm" ( I said in my mind: Did he just said PLEASE?). I know some you guys think that's silly but I like people who to treat me politely like I would treat them.

The guy started to do the paper work. To kill time we started looking around at their huge inventory and the other staff right away asked if we wanted to look at anything (Sweet).

The scene was so funny to me as I was looking ,asking questions while the poor guy doing the paper work would call me when he needed something from me. Not once did anyone get mad at me.

After all the BS paper work the other party left and I stayed to look around some more. The Walther P22 with laser caught my eye. After spending 15 mins looking and feeling the weight I determine that this would be perfect to train my daughters on how to shoot. The only draw back was the price $390 for the gun & $125 for the laser...that's $578 OTD

I was hesitant to haggle but did any how because I see these sell for $350 without the laser at other stores. I asked the sales guy if he can give me a cash price and he said these prices were already very good. I didn't press it so I left thinking I can pick one used here on the board for $350-$400.

On the 10th day I rushed over there to pick up my 1st Kimber and of course I was greeted politely. While the sales representative was helping me I was making some small talk by telling him how interested I was on that P22 but the price was too high.

When he finished with the transaction he asked which one I was interested in. I showed him and he said wait here I'll be back. He walked in the back and returned with a price of $525 with DROS. That was a good price but I know if I drove to SBR I would get it for less and told him that. He walked back & returned with I think the manager/owner. The possible manager/owner ask how much I wanted to pay for the P22 for and I said $500 OTD, he thought about it for 30 secs and BAM!! he said ok. ( Deep Inside I was dancing becuase I just found another place to buy firearms )

I'm sorry to say that it has been hard to find Gun stores that are willing to haggle with the price any more & on top of that have great customer service.

Shenanigans! No way you did a no hassle PPT, looked around with no glaring eyes on you, were allowed to fondle guns, only waited the required time before pick-up, and got a great deal on another gun.

I bet you want us to think you bought ammo there too...

They've seemed to lighten up in the last couple of years.

Just back from there. A friend bought a beretta extrema 2. Got a banging cash price didn't know till we were leaving that he knew one of the employees, but they seemed to be fairly open to haggling.

Looking for an AR 10 and they seemed to have a few in stock at decent price.also if you are lookig for a new Kimber in .45 or 10mm they had a few in stock.

I was there yesterday for a PPT. Their selection has increased a lot since they moved to the bigger location next door.

I would say for stores within 60ish mile radius of me they have the largest inventory.

Picked up my P22 and they told me to watch out when handling my Kimber TLE II... I didn't know that you can ruin the sear by lowering the Hammer... I should read the manual when I buy guns.

Uh...no. You can safely, with no damage, lower the hammer with the thumb.

Dry firing will actually cause more wear on the sear, as it drags across the contact surface of the hammer while under spring pressure. Not so much wear to worry about, unless you dry fire thousands and thousands of times.

Another upvote for Triple A; the fastest with the PPT paperwork I've ever experienced.

AND! They have the largest most varied inventory of any FFL I've seen in the Bay Area since the Golden Days of the late 80's.

Haven't been there since before they moved.... clearly I need to get in there and stimulate the economy.

I highly recommend Aris (The Top Dog that runs the shop) and his crew at Triple A's! Aris is the guy to talk to if you want to wheel and deal. Been there numerous times to do a PPT and all of them went smoothly. Bought my OD Glock there when they were going scarce and Aris gave me a good deal which I couldnt pass up. That's my go to local gunshop if I ever need to find one (plus its only 3 minutes away from my house )!

I went on Saturday for the first and I found it to be a nice store, I left with a drag bag. I'll be sure to stop by everytime I'm in "V-town"
