        I voted MP5/40, only because I couldn't vote for MP5/10.

          It depends a lot on:
-what parts go into the build, German, contract, or clone
-Who built it, reputable builder, garage builder, or homebuilt
          -How it was built
          -what receiver its on

Example: The K or MP5/40 is probably > the MP5, but a German parts MP5 by a reputable builder will always be better than an all US parts K or 40 built by somebody else.
Any gun built by IGF or RDTS will be more desirable than any gun built by you in your garage. And guns as an investment is not a good idea anyway, especially clone HKs. One of the things with clones over the last several years, is that every couple of years the tooling and US parts got better. So if you bought in with an early SW receiver years ago, or bought an MKE flat to build on, you are now a sucker since the LSC receivers came out. Also, if you are having the gun built custom for you, you will spend more money on the parts and paying a builder than you would get back out of it selling it. Clones do not keep their value like the original HKs did.

And I vote for the MP5/40 - It has a last round BHO.

I was looking into an MP5 build recently and was considering the MKE AT94 line. They're Turkish made guns, licensed by HK. They're supposed to be of good quality, not HK-good, but good.

            Here's more info: http://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=74645

Obviously, these will need to be brought in under the single-shot exemption. The AT94K's barrel is too short to meet the minimum for single-shot, so the AT94P is the only option. However, from what Atlantic Firearms told me, there is no mag-lock available for it (I was considering having someone cut the paddle off and then replace it myself later).

Once you get it into the state, then you can "work" on it as you see fit. I was thinking of chopping the barrel and turn it into an SP89 clone.

I ended up spending the money on other things, so this project got put on the backburner.

9mm ammo is cheaper than 40, which is only reason why I didn't vote for the 40.

I was thinking the same. The MP4/10 would be awsome

Cutting the paddle off wont disable the mag release, you can still push the button on the side.

Also Radlock makes a bullet button, but it requires some work to make it fit the mke.

None of the above, UMP in any caliber. Lots of fun, that gun.
This may sound strange and unbelievable to you, but it is real and true.
