    AK pistol conversion.

I purchased a single shot AK pistol. It was registered with the DOJ as a single shot. Does anyone know if I can legally convert it to receive a 10 round magazine. What paperwork would I need to submit to DOJ?

When you take possession of the gun, you can remove the single-shot sled and use any mag that is 10 rounds or less and you MUST keep the bullet button on it. No paperwork required - the single-shot sled is just to get the gun registered to you - once you possess it, you can modify it however you please within the other "assault weapon" or other legal guidelines. Enjoy!

Once its yours then it is yours to do with as you please. There is no legal requirement to keep it single shot. Just don't do anything to make it an illegal semi-auto pistol. See the links under the "flowchart & OLL Assembly Guide" drop down menu toward the top of this page.
