So I attended a gun show in Las Vegas...

    So I attended a gun show in Las Vegas...

    Good evening all. I'm a frequent reader & small time poster but I'm on vacation, walked the strip, had a few drinks & find myself in a talkative mood. Here goes...

    Went to a crossroads show at the Cashman center here in Vegas. Not too big, smaller than Ontario show. I noticed quite a few differences from California gun shows. No one selling bullet buttons, ten round mag limiters, no bat grips for your pistol grip etc. I don't think I saw one ten round mag. Not to mention what we would consider evil hi cap mags were modestly priced around $15. That's right $15, not $45 for a rebuild kit or a ten round mag. These people seemed to love handguns. I don't think I've seen this many handguns in one place. New, used. All out on display to touch!! No glass cases. Tables with persons filling out paperwork. I think they might have even been going home with their new wares same day. I don't know Nevada laws, however when I was leaving the guard asked me if I had a gun in my case.

    What does all this mean?? Oh boy it sucks to live in Kalifornia. Does a ten round limit actually make a difference in the crime rate?? If the North Hollywood shooters had ten rounds would they have been stopped sooner? Or a bullet button would have been the game changer.

    Question for my fellow responsible Americans... Why do responsible, law abiding, hard working, tax paying, gun owners such as ourselves have to pay the price for the mistakes of the few & deranged? Why are we being stripped of our rights, however at the same time being forced to accept that alternative lifestyles will be taught to our children without our consent. Why, why, why???
    Has my rant gone too far?? Probably, however I'm tired of trying to type on my iPhone so I'll wrap it up. Bye!!

    Ha-ha sounds like you're having a good time.

    It's an eye-opener going to another state and realizing how "normal" things are/should be in CA.

      Funny how whenever a new gun magazine comes out, you absolutely have to have that "not available in CA" gun. But when you actually see and handle them at a show in another state, it's really not that big of a deal anymore. The grass is always greener...

      But of course, there are a few I wouldn't mind owning...

            Now that you've visited one of our crappy Las Vegas gun shows go visit one in Arizona.

            They still know how to do gun shows there.
            People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

              my experience was similar. I went to a Vegas gun show a few years ago and was looking at a rifle at a table and there was a kids watching the table for parents I guess. He said I should buy the rifle and I said couldn't, and he asked if I was from CA. I said yes, and he was like "You should move."

              Damned if I didn't move...

              I went ot the big show at the Market Center in Dallas a while back. THAT was a gun show....

                    I think that's boiler plate stuff you're posting. Laws have more to do with politics, perception, and greed than reality at times

                        Perception is the key. Politicians want to look like good "guardians" to the people by fighting crime, because the people expect the be coddled and taken care of by their government. This combined with the other political and social forces that have made the public view guns as a source of violence and crime rather than tools that, like any other object, can be used at the will of those who choose to wield them. It is the mind of the individual that decides to perpetrate crime, not the tool they choose to perpetrate it with.

                        Making laws that limit the already illegal action of the degenerate portion of the population by limiting the legal access to firearms for everyone does nothing. If criminals were inclined to follow laws, they wouldn't be criminals.

                          Because we've allowed "the few & deranged" to remain in elected positions of power for far too long. Simple as that!

                              The out of state rules apply to all states right? I mean if I moved to Idaho and then went to a gun show in Arizona I still couldn't buy anything without having them ship it to a FFL in Idaho right? (I know, if I lived in Idaho I wouldn't really need to go to AZ, but just picked that state as example.)
